B- Volume control
Your remote control is set to perform
volume control through a Philips TV set. If
you have a TV from another brand, refer to
chapter Additional Information of the
user manual to adapt the brand setting of
your remote control to your TV set.
C- TV Guide
While watching digital TV:
- Press guide to consult the current
programme.
- Use ▲/ ▼/ ◄ / ► keys to select the
desired option.

Troubleshooting

Problem
The display on the front panel does not light
up.
No sound or picture but the front panel
displays a channel number.
The remote control does not operate your
Digital Cable Receiver.
If the quality of the signal is poor, do a test by
going to channel 999.

Go to www.philips.com/support

- Press UPC or back to exit the TV Guide.
Check that the mains cord is correctly connected. Disconnect this cord and
reconnect it to ensure it is in place.
Check that power is available at the wall socket.
Check the connections.
Check the connection between the cable wall sockets and the device.
Make sure the device is on.
Check the remote control mode is set to STB (press the UPC key if
necessary).
Make sure you are pointing the remote control at the device front panel.
Check the batteries of your remote control.
Step 1
Press the UPC key on the remote control and then press 9 9 9.
The test channel is now displayed. A message appears after a few seconds,
telling you to press the red-coloured key on your remote control.
Step 2
Press
on the remote control to automatically execute fi ve tests. The
results of those tests appear under each other on screen. If one of the tests
comes back with an error as result, we recommend that you check the
connections of all plugs and cables and execute the test on channel 999
again. If the test still comes back with an error, please contact UPC Customer
service.
