REPLACinG THE PuR

WATER FiLTER
1. When the filter life indicator lights have turned from white to red, it is time to replace your PUR
mineralclear
filter with a new one.
®
Hint:
It is easier to change the filter when no water is in the system. Unplug unit. Position over sink.
Remove drain plug to drain water from system and then insert drain plug.
2. Remove fill cap and then lift off the top cover.
3. locate the PUR
®
filter cap, twist the filter cap counterclockwise to loosen and remove cap –
SAVE cap to replace with new filter.
4. lift out filter using the small blue tab that is sticking up from the filter top and discard used filter.
NOTE:
When the filter is out, it is a good time to clean the filter chamber and the outside of
the unit by wiping out the area with a damp paper towel.
5. Remove the new PUR
®
mineralclear
®
filter from the foil pouch.
6. Take the PUR
mineralclear
filter and drop into the filter chamber, so the flat portion of the filter
®
®
with the tab is on top and showing. Replace PUR
to tighten, so the point of the water drop shaped cap is pointing to the mark, replace top cover
and fill cap.

CARE AnD CLEAninG

Remove the plug from outlet before draining system, filter change or cleaning. Do not immerse
appliance or cord into liquids.

Draining the system
1. To empty the system, dispense all available water from the system.
2. Some water will remain in the internal portions of the system. Turn off and unplug the appliance,
then remove the drain plug on the bottom of the unit, to drain the remaining water.
3. Once empty, the reservoir can we wiped out with a damp cloth.
4. The system should be fully drained and the filter removed before storing the system. When
removing the unit from storage, a new filter will need to be used to once again use the Oster
water filtration system.
NOTE:
Do not use household chemicals or cleaners on or around the unit.
Regular Cleaning of the system - to be done only at filter change
1. Turn the unit off and unplug it from outlet.
2. Wipe off the entire exterior with a damp cloth.
3. Remove fill cap, top cover, PUR
4. Filter chamber can be wiped out with a damp cloth and filter and cap replaced. Do not wash filter.
5. The base is not immersible. Simply wipe it clean with a damp cloth.
6. Dry thoroughly when clean.
Semi-annual Cleaning of the system
1. Every 6 months the system should be cleaned to remove any mineral deposits.
2. Drain the system following the above directions.
3. Unplug unit. Take equal parts of white vinegar and water and add to the system by removing
the fill cap and pouring thru the fill area (with blue ring) into the reservoir, replace fill cap.
let sit for 20 minutes.
4. To drain cleaning solution, remove the dual drain plug located on the bottom of the unit and drain
out all solution. Some water will remain in the internal portions of the system.
5. Repeat with clean water and drain.
6. Now you are ready to reuse the Oster
NOTE:
Do not use dispenser with cleaning solution in the system. You do not want to push
the vinegar solution through the filter. If you accidentally dispense the vinegar solution, you
will need to discard that filter and replace with a new one and once again prime the system.
Using water only in the system
Only use water in the Oster
except for potable water or the water/vinegar cleaning solution. Do not add drink mixes, fruit or
other food into system.
