HSCSD - High-Speed Circuit
Switched Data
With the GSM high-speed data
service, you can use the Internet and
other services more quickly than
usual. For example, Internet
connection and sending or receiving
e-mail is faster. You can use high-
speed functionality when your
phone is connected to a computer
via an IR connection or Bluetooth,
and when the modem drivers
supporting high-speed data
software are installed on your
computer and selected as an active
modem.
Note that sending data in HSCSD
mode drains the phone's battery
faster than normal voice or data
calls as the phone is sending data
more quickly. For continuous usage,
connect the phone to a charger.

Using data communications
applications
• Activate the IR connection (Menu
9) or Bluetooth connection
(Menu 10) on your phone.
• If you are using the IR
connection, make sure that the
infrared port of the phone faces
the infrared port of the PC.
• Start using the data
communications application on
the PC.
For information on the use of the
application, refer to the
documentation for the
application.
Note that making or answering
phone calls during a PC connection
is not recommended as it might
disrupt the operation.
For better performance during data
calls, place the phone on a
stationary surface with the keypad
facing downward. Do not move the
phone by holding it in your hand
during a data call.
