Installation

¡ Refer wiring and installation to qualified
service personnel.
Installation of this navigation system
Caution
requires special skills and experience. For
maximum safety, have it installed by the
shop where you purchased the product.
Panasonic will not be liable for any trouble
resulting from your having installed the
unit yourself.
¡ We strongly recommend that you wear
gloves for installation work to protect
yourself from injuries.
¡ Disconnect the lead from the negative (–)
battery terminal. (see note below).
Note: Various settings that have been stored in the
memory in other on-board equipment may be lost if
the battery terminals are disconnected. Therefore,
make a record of or back up the settings before
disconnecting the terminals.
This unit is designed exclusively for
vehicles with a negative grounded 12 V DC
battery system.
Caution
Follow the instructions for electrical
connection carefully. Failure to do so may
result in damage to the unit.
Connect the battery lead (yellow) after all
other connections are made.
Be sure to connect the battery lead
(yellow) to the fuse block (BAT) terminal.

Insulate all exposed wires to prevent short
circuiting.
Secure all loose wires after installing the
unit.
Read carefully the operating and
installation instructions for the equipment
before connecting it to the unit.
If you have any difficulties, please consult
your nearest authorized Panasonic Service
Centre.
Install the product securely. Be sure to use
the appropriate tools. Also fix the leads
with cable clamps or tape.

TMC Unit Installation
Do not install this unit in the following places:
¡ Where the unit interferes with driving
¡ A place where the unit interferes with the
operation of an air bag
¡ A place where the unit interferes with a steering
system, a braking system or a fuel system
¡ Direct sunlight
¡ Exposed to high temperatures
¡ Unstable places
¡ Where it may get splashed with water, or a damp
and dusty place
¡ Where the heat ventilation of the navigation
system is disturbed (e.g. covering a radiating
plate or a ventilating hole)
¡ A place close to equipment with electromagnetic
waves such as a car telephone and an antenna
ƒCables and leads should
run under the carpets.
