Coolant

Check the coolant level in the reservoir tank
when the engine is cold. (The coolant level will
vary with engine temperature.) The coolant
level is satisfactory if it is between the "FULL"
and "LOW" marks on the tank. If the coolant
level is at or below the "LOW" level, add tap
water (soft water) to bring the level up to
"FULL". Change the coolant every two years.
(See pages 8-11 ~ 8-14 for details.)
CAUTION:
Hard water or salt water is harmful to the
engine. You may use distilled water if you
can't get soft water.
Reservoir tank capacity:
0.29 L (0.26 Imp qt, 0.31 US qt)
From "LOW" to "FULL" level:
0.17 L (0.15 Imp qt, 0.17 US qt)
POTENTIAL HAZARD
Removing the radiator cap when the en-
gine and radiator are still hot.
WHAT CAN HAPPEN
You could be burned by hot fluid and
steam blown out under pressure.
HOW TO AVOID THE HAZARD
Wait for the engine to cool before re-
moving the radiator cap. Always use a
thick rag over the cap. Allow any re-
maining pressure to escape before
completely removing the cap.
