handles,   a nd   k eep   c hildren   a nd   b ystanders   a t   l east   5 0'   ( 15   m )   a way   f rom   t he   m ower.  
•   Household   c ircuit:   T his   m ower   i s   d esigned   t o   o perate   o n   a   1 5   A   c ircuit.   I f   t he   m ower   h as   d ifficulty   s tarting   w hen  
connected   t o   a   c ircuit   t hat   c ontains   a   s tandard   1 5   A   f use   o r   c ircuit   b reaker,   c all   t he   t oll-­‐free   n umber.   D o   n ot   u se   a   f use  
or   c ircuit   b reaker   w ith   a   h igher   r ating   t han   s pecified   f or   y our   p articular   b ranch   c ircuit.  
•   Do   n ot   a buse   t he   c ord   b y   p ulling   t he   m ower   b y   t he   c ord   o r   y anking   o n   t he   c ord   i n   o rder   t o   d isconnect   i t   f rom   t he  
outlet.   K eep   t he   c ord   a way   f rom   h eat,   o il   a nd   s harp   o bjects.                                          
•   Many   i njuries   o ccur   a s   a   r esult   o f   t he   m ower   b eing   p ulled   o ver   t he   o perator's   f oot   d uring   a   f all   c aused   b y   s lipping   o r    
tripping.   D o   n ot   o perate   t his   m ower   i n   b are   f eet,   o r   w hile   w earing   s andals   o r   l ightweight   ( e.g.:   c anvas)   s hoes.   D o   n ot  
hold   o n   t o   t he   m ower   i f   y ou   a re   f alling.   R elease   t he   h andle   i mmediately.  
•   Never   p ull   t he   m ower   b ack   t oward   y ou   w hile   y ou   a re   w alking.     If   y ou   m ust   b ack   t he   m ower   a way   f rom   a   w all   o r   a n  
obstruction,   f irst   l ook   d own   a nd   b ehind   i n   o rder   t o   a void   t ripping   a nd   t hen   f ollow   t hese   s teps:    
•   Step   b ack   f rom   t he   m ower   i n   o rder   t o   f ully   e xtend   y our   a rms.  
•   Be   s ure   t hat   y ou   a re   w ell   b alanced.  
•   Pull   t he   m ower   b ack   s lowly.  
•   Repeat   t hese   s teps   a s   n ecessary.  
•   Do   n ot   u se   m ower   f or   a ny   j ob   e xcept   t hat   f or   w hich   i t   i s   i ntended.   D o   n ot   f orce   t he   m ower.  
•   Do   n ot   o perate   t he   m ower   w hile   u nder   t he   i nfluence   o f   a lcohol   o r   d rugs.  
•   Stay   A lert:   D o   n ot   o perate   t he   m ower   w hen   y ou   a re   t ired.   P ay   a ttention   t o   w hat   y ou   a re   d oing.   U se   c ommon   s ense.  
•   Do  not  put  hands  or  feet  near  rotating  parts  or  under  the  cutting  deck.  Contact  with  the  blade  can  amputate  hands  
and   f eet.  
•   Do   n ot   a ttempt   t o   a djust   t he   w heels   o r   t he   c utting   h eight   w hile   t he   m otor   i s   r unning.  
•   Avoid   d angerous   e nvironments.   D o   n ot   o perate   t he   m ower   i n   t he   r ain   o r   i n   w et   o r   d amp   g rass.  
•   Mow   o nly   i n   d aylight   o r   i n   g ood   a rtificial   l ight.   D o   n ot   r ush   a   m owing   j ob.  
•   Stop   t he   b lade   w hen   c rossing   g ravel   d riveways,   w alkways,   o r   r oads.  
•   If   t he   m ower   s tarts   t o   v ibrate   a bnormally,   s top   t he   m otor   a nd   c heck   f or   t he   c ause   i mmediately.   V ibration   i s   g enerally  
a   w arning   o f   t rouble.  
•   Stop  the  motor  and  wait  until  the  blade  comes  to  a  complete  stop  before  removing  the  grass  catcher  or  unclogging    
the   c hute.   T he   c utting   b lade   w ill   c ontinue   t o   r otate   f or   a   f ew   s econds   a fter   t he   m otor   i s   s hut   o ff.   D o   n ot   p lace   a ny   p art  
of   y our   b ody   i n   t he   b lade   a rea   u ntil   y ou   a re   s ure   t hat   t he   b lade   h as   s topped   r otating.  
•   Never   o perate   t he   m ower   w ithout   a   p roper   t rail   s hield,   d ischarge   c over,   g rass   c atcher,   s witch   c ontrol,   o r   o ther   s afety  
protective   d evices   i n   p lace   a nd   i n   w orking   o rder.   D o   n ot   o perate   t he   m ower   w ith   d amaged   s afety   d evices.   D oing   s o   c an  
result   i n   i njury.
