Starting Up

Inserting a battery

1.
Open the battery cover.
Note:
· You can use a AA-size nickel-metal hydride battery.
However, you cannot charge the nickel-metal hydride
battery using the unit.
WARNING
· Use the battery at an ambient temperature of 5 to 35
degrees Celsius (41 to 95 degrees Fahrenheit). In par-
ticular, do not leave the recorder or the battery in a car.

Turning the power on or off

Turning the power on
Press the [POWER] button.
Turning the power off
Press and hold down the [POWER] button for at least
two seconds while the recorder is stopped.
Note:
· If you leave the recorder turned on for a specified period of time
without using it, the recorder will automatically turn off (the
default setting is "15min").
· When you turn the power on for the first time, set the calendar
(see page 18, PDF reference manual).
· If a large-capacity (such as 16GB) microSD card is inserted into
the recorder, it will take some time for the recorder to start up.

Insert the included
alkaline battery.
"AA/LR6"
alkaline battery x1

Close the battery cover.
CAUTION
· When you replace the battery, be sure
to first turn off the power to the unit.
Otherwise, a malfunction or damage to
the data may occur.
