About the NEX-5T
The NEX-5T is equipped with all the functions of the NEX-5R.
This section, "About the NEX-5T," describes the added functions of the NEX-5T, the
procedure for using them, and the differences between the NEX-5R and the NEX-5T.

About NFC

NFC is a technology that enables short-range wireless communication between various
devices, such as mobile phones or IC tags, etc. NFC makes data communication simpler
with just a touch on the designated touch-point.
• NFC (Near Field Communication) is an international standard of short-range wireless
communication technology.
Description
With just one touch, the camera automatically sets the SSID and
the password to connect to an NFC-enabled Android
Smartphone or tablet computers.
When the camera is in playback mode, you can connect the
camera and an NFC-enabled Android Smartphone with one
touch, and send images to the Smartphone.
You can use your Smartphone as a remote controller for the
camera. Use the factory preset application [Smart Remote
Embedded] on the camera.
If you use an NFC-enabled Android Smartphone, you can
connect the camera and the Smartphone with a one-touch
operation (One-touch remote).
You can call up an application installed on the camera by
touching an NFC-enabled Android Smartphone to the camera.
When you board an airplane, etc., you can turn off all Wi-Fi and
NFC functions temporarily.
