    Introduction IOGEAR’s Wireless Bluetooth™ to USB Adapter is a Class 1 Wireless Bluetooth to USB adapter with a wireless working distance of 330 feet (100 meters). This device allows any computer with USB connections to become a Bluetooth™ enabled computer. It complies with Bluetooth 1.1 and USB 1.1 specifications, and provides users with a 723 Kbps data transfer rate at ranges up to 330 feet.

    Installation 1. Make sure that the IOGEAR Bluetooth™ Adapter is NOT plugged into the USB port of the computer. With the computer turned on and Windows 2000, or XP running (The support for 98SE and ME is limited), insert the IOGEAR Bluetooth™ Installation CD into the CD-ROM drive.
  • Page 12 Installation 2. The License Agreement will appear. Please read and agree with the agreement by checking “I accept the terms in the license agreement” and click on Next.
  • Page 13 Installation 3. Define the Device Name and specify the Device Type (Desktop/Laptop) and click Next.
  • Page 14 Installation 4. Click Next to install the default directory, or click Change to install to a different directory.

    Reinstallation Under normal circumstances, you will not need to reinstall drivers for your internal Bluetooth™ USB device; however, the need may arise if your hard drive is rebuilt or if your USB device is dropped from your devices list. To reinstall the drivers, follow steps 1-13 in the installation section.

    Using the IOGEAR Bluetooth™ Configuration Icon, located in the lower-right corner of the Windows taskbar, it is easy to configure and setup your IOGEAR Bluetooth™ to USB Adapter. All other Bluetooth™ - enabled devices within range will be recognized instantly such as printers, computers, cellular phones, and PDAs (Personal Digital Assistant).

    Operation What is “Pairing ?” Pairing is a Bluetooth™ function that enables Bluetooth™ devices to remain permanently linked to each other. What does “Pairing” mean in terms of security? As mentioned, Pairing allows devices to permanently link with each other. The pass key authentication will also be perpetuated in Pairing, meaning that devices will not ask for a pass key once they are paired.
