WHAT DOES THIS APPLICATION DO?
This application covers the use of a ZR-KE to add additional keypads to a zone on the ZR-4, or additional keypads and/or touchscreens
on a zone of the ZR-6.
Key Considerations
Each Niles MultiZone receiver has
limitations on how many keypads it can
accommodate. The rules for each model
are shown below.
ZR-4
– No more than 2 keypads per
zone per chassis
ZR-6
– No more than 30 KPV per chassis

This includes larger rooms, outdoor areas
that have multiple entertainment areas, and
rooms that have two entryways.

Installation Benefi ts
The ZR-KE offers an easy way to connect
multiple user interfaces to a control a
single zone on a Niles MultiZone Receiver.
CRITICAL KNOWLEDGE
The ZR-KE can be powered either
by direct connection via CAT-5 to
a ZR-4 or ZR-6, or by an optional
12V DC power supply. The keypad
power supply in the ZR-6 will operate
keypads only up to a maximum KPV
of 30. Any additional keypads must
be connected to a ZR-KE with its own
power supply. Only 1 active IR sensor
in a room. When a room has more
than 1 keypad, IR sensors should be
disabled in all but one keypad.
