4. Messaging

Your phone can create and receive text, multimedia, voice and minibrowser messages.
Check with your service provider to see what messaging is available for you.
■ Text messages
Text messaging is a network service. See "Network services," p. 7, for more
information. If your wireless service provider supports this feature, you can send and
receive text messages to compatible phones that are also subscribed to the service.
When you write messages, the number of characters used is displayed on the upper
right of the screen. Special (unicode) characters take more space than is indicated.
Before the message is sent, a prompt will indicate whether the message is over the
maximum length. Also, you can make distribution lists that contain phone numbers
and names from your contact list. See "Distribution lists," p. 43 for more information.
Note: When sending messages, your device may display
This is an indication that the message has been sent by your device to
the message center number programmed into your device. This is not an
indication that the message has been received at the intended destination.

message—Create and send messages.
Inbox—Check for received text messages. Text messages are automatically stored
in the
Inbox
when they are received. A notification appears when a message arrives
in the Inbox.
