DVD-Audio Play Mode
This setting is accessible only when Setup Menu Mode is set to
Expert. (See page 36)
The DVD video play mode can be set to play the DVD video con-
tents included on a DVD audio disc.
Press ENTER button to switch between Audio Navigation and
Video Navigation.
Audio Navigation: Set this to play the DVD audio signals as such.
Video Navigation: Set this to play the DVD video contents include
on a DVD audio disc.
Need to stop and reload the disc before activated the changing.

Super Audio CD Play Mode
This setting is accessible only when Setup Menu Mode is set to
Expert. (See page 36)
On a Super Audio CD, the stereo and multi-channel areas are
separate. Hybrid discs comprise 2-layer structure of Super Audio
CD layer and a CD layer.
The area/layer can be set to be played with priority.
Multi Channel: When playing a Super Audio CD disc, the multi-
channel area will be played back with priority.
STEREO: When playing a Super Audio CD disc, the stereo area
will be played back with priority.
CD Layer: When playing a Super Audio CD disc, the CD layer will
be played back with priority.
Need to open and close the tray again to activate the changing.

Selecting the Language for OSD

(On Screen Display)

You can select the language for OSD (On Screen Display).
This setting determines in what language the SETUP menu
and operating messages are displayed. It has nothing to do
with languages on DVD movies. The default language is
ENGLISH.

PARENTAL RATING
Playing some DVD discs can be limited depending on the
age of the users. The parental rating system allows playback
limitation level to be set by the parent. The default setting is
"UNLOCK".
Notes
< The lower the level is set, the stricter the limitation is
offered.
< To change the parental control level, a correct password is
needed to key in.
1. Select "PARENTAL RATING" on the SYSTEM tab and press
the ENTER button. You will be asked for a password.
2. Use the numeric buttons to enter "2580" (or your privacy
password if already established).
3. Press the ENTER button as many times as necessary to
select the desired parental rating.
< If the parental rating of the loaded DVD disc is higher than
the level you set, the system will require a password. Enter
your password to start playback.
