If any form of battery failure is detected the red LED
light will flash and the unit will "chirp" one time, fol-
lowed by the warning message "LOW BATTERY." This
cycle will occur once every minute, and will continue
for at least seven days.
If the red LED light flashes along with a chirp every
30 seconds, and is not followed by the voice mes-
sage "LOW BATTERY" as described above, your unit
has malfunctioned. Call our toll free Consumer Hotline
at
1-800-880-6788 for instructions on how to return the unit.
CAUTION: YOUR SMOKE/CO ALARM IS SEALED
AND THE COVER IS NOT REMOVABLE!
To replace the battery you must first remove the alarm
from the mounting bracket by following the ALARM
REMOVAL instructions at the beginning of this section.
After the alarm has been removed , you can open the bat-
tery door and replace the battery.
Battery installation instructions are provided on the
inside of the battery door.
