Is the exposure set to too
dark or bright?
Is the light sensitivity set to
too low or high?

Cause
Was your finger covering the
lens?
Are you looking straight
through the viewfinder?
Is the subject of the picture
very close to the camera?
Adjust the exposure setting properly. See "Setting Exposure" on
page 39 for details.
Adjust the light sensitivity setting properly. See "Setting Light
Sensitivity" on page 38 for details.
What to do
When taking photos using the viewfinder, fingers, straps or
pieces of clothing may partially cover the lens.
You can misjudge the composition of the picture if you are
looking through the viewfinder at an angle or holding the camera
away from your face.
When the object is less than 1 meter from the lens, you may be
experiencing parallax problems. Taking photos using the LCD
monitor.
