The following is a brief introduction to the function key combinations.
Launching the camera settings (Fn+Esc)
• On the Windows 7 operating system: Press Fn+Esc to open the camera and audio settings window. The
camera preview is turned on. Change the camera and audio settings as desired.
• On the Windows 8 operating system: Press Fn+Esc to enable or disable the camera.
Volume controls (Fn + Left/Right arrow)
To adjust the sound volume from your computer, do the following:
• Fn + Left arrow: Decrease the sound volume.
• Fn + Right arrow: Increase the sound volume.
Adjusting display brightness level (Fn + Up/Down arrow)
You can temporarily change the computer display brightness level by pressing the two key combinations.
When you press Fn + Up arrow, the computer display becomes brighter. When you press Fn + Down arrow,
the computer display becomes dimmer.
Power conservation (Fn+F1)
Put your computer into sleep mode. To return to normal operation, press the Fn key only.
Display backlight feature (Fn+F2)
Press Fn+F2 to enable or disable the display backlight feature.
Switching the display output location (Fn+F3)
Press this function key combination to switch between the computer display and an external monitor.
The following options will be displayed:
• PC screen only
• Duplicate
• Extend
• Second screen only
Note: To switch between the computer display and an external monitor, the Windows+P key combination
also is available.
Wireless radio control (Fn+F5)
Press this key combination to enable or disable the built-in wireless networking features.
Touch pad controls (Fn+F6)
Press Fn+F6 to enable or disable the touch pad function on your computer.
Numeric keypad controls (Fn+F8)
For the following models, press Fn+F8 to enable or disable the numeric keypad: Lenovo B490, B4301,
B4302, B4303, B4305, B4306, B4307, B4308, B4309, B4310, B4311, B4312, B4315, B4316, B4317, B4318,
B4319, B4320, B4321, B4322, B4323, B4325, B4326, B4327, B4328, B4329, B4330, B4331, B4332, B4333,
B4335, B4336, B4337, B4338, B4339, B4360, B4361, B4362, B4363, B4365, B4366, B4367, B4368, B4369,
B4370, B4371, B4372, B4375, B4376, B4377, and B4378.
