Appendix G: BlackBerry Smart Card Reader reset process

Before you can upgrade the BlackBerry Smart Card Reader Version 1.0, you must first reset the BlackBerry Smart
Card Reader to delete the Bluetooth pairing information and the secure pairing key. When the user resets a
BlackBerry Smart Card Reader, the BlackBerry Smart Card Reader performs the following actions:
backs up the Bluetooth encryption key for the currently connected BlackBerry device, if applicable
deletes all Bluetooth pairing information
deletes all secure pairing information
deletes all user settings
deletes the connection password
unbinds the IT policy from the BlackBerry Smart Card Reader
The BlackBerry Smart Card Reader unbinds the IT policy by deleting the IT policy public key from its NV
store so that it can receive a new IT policy and a digitally signed IT policy public key from a BlackBerry
Enterprise Server. The BlackBerry Smart Card Reader does not delete its stored IT policy.
