Operating modes
There are two operating modes in wireless LAN:
infrastructure and ad hoc.
The infrastructure operating mode allows two kinds of
communication: wireless devices are connected to each
other through a wireless LAN access point device, or
wireless devices are connected to a wired LAN through a
wireless LAN access point device.
In the ad hoc operating mode, devices can send and
receive data directly with each other. To create an IAP for
an ad hoc network, see 'Access points', p. 114.

PC connections

You need to connect your device to a compatible PC to do
the following:
Transfer information between Nokia PC Suite
applications and your device. For example, to
synchronize calendar appointments or transfer
images.
Use your device as a modem to connect to network
services such as the internet.

You can connect your device and a compatible PC via a
compatible USB or serial cable, infrared, or Bluetooth
wireless technology.

guide for Nokia PC Suite.
Tip! When using Nokia PC Suite for the first time, to
connect your device to a compatible PC and to use
Nokia PC Suite, use the Get Connected wizard available
in Nokia PC Suite.
