The exhaust hood feature on your GE microwave
oven is equipped with a metal filter which collects
grease, When the fan is operated, air is drawn up
through the filter and is then discharged through
provided venting to the outside. The hood also ha~a
light for illumina~ingthe counter surface,
To removegrease filter, grasp the "finger hold" on
the filter and push to the rcvart T he filter will dropout,
To replace grease filter,

on the back of the opening. Push to the
rear
and upward to snap into place.

Soak, then agitate filter in hot detergent solution,
Don't use ammonia or other alkali because it will
darken metal. Light brushing can be used to remove
embedded dirt. Rinse, shake and remove moisture
before replacing. Filtersshould be cleaned at least
oncea month.Neveropmite your hood wlthou?the
filter in place. In situations where flaming might
occur cmsurfaces below hood, filter will retard entry
of flames into the unit,
