Smart Operations

Cisco Catalyst Smart Operations are a set of tools, capabilities, and management applications that network
administrators can use to simplify deployment, management, and troubleshooting of the unified access campus
architecture. The Cisco Catalyst 6500-E with Supervisor Engine 2T supports the latest smart operations
capabilities, including Smart Install, Generic Online Diagnostics (GOLD), and Embedded Event Manager (EEM).
Figure 5 shows the importance of smart operations.
