To stop false alarms from your Kidde i12060A smoke alarm that occur every night at 2 AM, follow these steps:

1. Check for Fire: When the alarm sounds, first verify that there is no fire.

2. Check Alarm Location: If no fire is present, review the "LOCATIONS TO AVOID" section. The alarm may be installed in an area prone to false alarms, such as near kitchens, bathrooms, or heating vents.

3. Clean the Alarm: Alarms should be cleaned at least once a year. Remove the alarm from its mounting bracket, use compressed air or a vacuum to clean the openings around the perimeter, and wipe the exterior with a damp cloth. Reinstall and test the alarm after cleaning.

4. Test Weekly: Regular testing helps ensure proper function. Use the Test/Hush Button to verify operation.

5. Replace if Needed: If false alarms persist after cleaning, the alarm may be defective and should be replaced.

I have a kitty smoke alarm model I 12060 a that seems to chirp out every 1213 hours. I have replaced the battery plus it has power supplied by the house and I replaced the same smoke alarm last year for the same problem I’ve cleaned it out. The hush button works, but only for 1213 hours and it does it again.

The Kidde smoke alarm model i12060A chirps every 12–13 hours if it is using the low battery HUSH feature. When the alarm detects a low battery, pressing the Test/Hush button silences the low battery warning chirp for approximately 13 hours. If the underlying issue is not resolved, such as using an incompatible or drained battery, the chirping will resume. Ensure only the specified 9-volt batteries listed in the manual are used, and verify proper installation.
