The oven of our Defy Slimline 600 S gets extremely hot and eventually burns the food but the electrician tells us it is the thermometer which is not available anymore. Please advise

If the thermometer part is no longer available and the Defy Slimline 600 S oven is overheating, follow these steps:
1. Check Thermostat Function: The thermostat controls oven temperature. If it's faulty, the oven may overheat. A technician can test and possibly replace it with a compatible part.
2. Inspect Oven Selector Switch: Ensure the switch correctly engages with the desired cooking mode. A malfunctioning selector can cause incorrect temperature regulation.
3. Avoid Using Grill or Fan Modes Unintentionally: The oven has multiple modes (e.g., Thermofan bake, grill). Ensure the correct mode is selected for your cooking.
4. Contact Service Centre: If the thermostat or other parts are unavailable or if the issue persists, contact the nearest Defy Service Centre. A qualified technician may suggest a compatible part or repair solution.
Do not continue using the oven if it overheats, as this may be unsafe.

If the heat of 3 out of 4 plates on a Defy 600C does not regulate properly, check the plate controls by turning the knobs to various settings to see if any heat level changes occur. If the issue persists, the plate regulators or thermostats may be faulty and require inspection or replacement. It is recommended to contact a qualified service technician or a Defy Service Centre for repair.
