YOUR
FURNACE
Condensing
furnaces
have a higher
efficiency
rating
than conventional
gas furnaces,
but are basically
the
same
in design
and operation,
The major
difference
is the addition
of a secondary
heat
exchanger
which
captures
heat that would normally
go out the furnace
vent
pipe,
By capturing
this heat the flue gases
are cooled
to a
point
where
most
of the vapor'
(mainly
water)
con-
denses
out and must
be drained
away,
Because
the
gases are cooled down plastic pipe is used for the vent
pipe in place Of metal.
