Connecting the PowerVault DL4000 System to the PowerVault MD1200 Storage Enclosure (Optional)
PowerEdge RAID controller
MD primary enclosure management module
Connect the PowerVault MD1200 storage enclosure to the PowerEdge
RAID Controller (PERC), located in the PowerVault DL4000 system:
1.
Connect one end of the SAS cable to port 0 on the PowerVault DL4000 system PERC controller.
2.
Connect the other end of the SAS cable to the IN port of the primary Enclosure Management Module
(EMM) on the PowerVault MD1200 storage enclosure.
To locate the primary EMM, see the PowerVault MD1200 storage enclosure's Owner's Manual
at dell.com/support/manuals.
NOTE: Do not connect tape devices to the PERC controller.

Turn on the components in the following order:
1.
MD1200 storage enclosure
2.
DL4000 system and monitor
The DL4000 system prompts you to enter a password.
After the password is confi rmed, the AppAssure Appliance
Confi guration Wizard is displayed.
Click Next and follow the instructions on the screen to com-
plete the software confi guration.
