Warning Messages and Displays

The following warnings are displayed in the monitor:
Warning Warning
B (red) Batteries are low.
A (blinks red) Batteries are exhausted.
k Slow shutter speed. Picture may be blurred.

Aperture or shutter The subject is too bright or too dark. The pic-

FOCUS ERROR

The memory card or internal memory is not

Insert fresh or fully-charged spare batteries.
Use the fl ash or mount the camera on a tripod.
• Use focus lock to focus on another subject at the
same distance, then recompose the picture (pg. 34).
• If the subject is poorly lit, try focusing at a distance of
about 2 m (6.6 ft.).
• Use macro mode to focus when taking close-ups.
If the subject is dark, use the fl ash.
Retake the photograph if desired.
Turn the camera off and then on again, taking care not
to touch the lens. If the message persists, contact a
FUJIFILM dealer.
Insert a memory card.
Format the memory card or internal memory using
the K FORMAT option in the camera setup menu
(pg. 101).
Clean the contacts with a soft, dry cloth. If the message
is repeated, format the memory card (pg. 101). If the
message persists, replace the memory card.
Contact a FUJIFILM dealer.
Unlock the memory card (pg. 10).
