ADVANCED SETTINGS
Regular 4:3
This option is only available if 4:3 was selected in Item 1 of this menu.
If the digital receiver is connected to a 4:3 TV you must select whether the programme picture
will be expanded full length leaving blank areas at the top and bottom of the screen, or whether
the height of the picture will fill the TV screen but the right and left ends of it will be cut off in
order to do this.
You can switch between the "letterbox" and "full screen" display formats while watching a pro-
gram by pressing the WIDE button.
2) TV sound
This option allows you to select mono or stereo sound output for the TV. The default is stereo
sound. Only change this setting if connecting to a mono TV. To select this option, use the 5 (UP)
(DOWN) button to select "TV sound" and use the 2 (LEFT) and 3 (RIGHT) buttons to
and
switch between mono and stereo.
3) TV Standard
Try adjusting this option to obtain the optimum picture display quality if the TV and digital
receiver are connected by a SCART lead. The default is "composite," but there may be some
improvement if the "RGB" option is selected.
To change this option, use the 5 (UP) or
(LEFT) and 3 (RIGHT) buttons to switch between composite and RGB. If there is no noticeable
improvement in the picture quality, leave the option set to "composite" and press the EXIT but-
ton to leave the menu.
4) VCR sound
This option allows you to select mono or stereo sound output for the VCR. The default is stereo
sound. Only change this setting if connecting to a mono VCR. To select this option, use the 5
(DOWN) button to select "VCR sound" and use the 2 (LEFT) and 3 (RIGHT) buttons to
(UP) or
switch between mono and stereo.
NOTE:
The digital receiver and TV must be connected by a SCART lead to record and playback in
stereo.
5) VCR Standard
Set this option to "PAL" when connecting the digital receiver to a VCR. If you do not know whether
or not the VCR is standard, refer to the VCR's owner's manual.
6) UHF output channel
This setting was made at the factory and should not need to be changed because it concerns the
output frequency from the digital receiver to the TV. The setting might need to be adjusted,
however, if you are having trouble tuning the TV or VCR to watch programmes from the digital
receiver or if you are experiencing interference. (For more information, refer to pages 11 to 14.)
If you need any guidance in adjusting this setting, please contact your local retailer or ONdigital
customer service at 0870-600-9696.
