The card reads data from one, two, or three track magnetic stripes on ID cards, driver’s licenses, royalty cards or credit/debit cards into a Windows Mobile, XP or Vista based computer. It’s the perfect solution for mobile Point of Sale applications, whether you want to eliminate long lines inside a department store or need to process credit cards at outdoor events.

STEP 1: S TART OCKET 1. Tap Start | Programs | SocketScan Plug-in folder |SocketScan Plug-in. 2. EADER ETTINGS The SocketScan Plug-in applet lets you specify prefix and/or suffix characters to be added automatically to swiped data, as well as sounds to indicate good reads.
UPPORT SocketScan Plug-in for Windows Mobile versions 7.2.4 and later support the simultaneous use of two Socket data collection devices with the same computer. This is ideal for combining magnetic stripe and cordless barcode reading in a complete mobile POS solution.

ESTRAINING RACKET NSTALLATION for the Socket SoMo handheld computer Note: Removing the screws and card slot cover of the SoMo to install the retaining bracket will not void the existing warranty on a SoMo device. 1. Remove the card slot cover built into the SoMo. Use a flat head screwdriver to pry off the two rubber screw caps on the back of the SoMo.

PPENDIX ROUBLESHOOTING For help on SocketScan Plug-in on a Pocket PC, tap Start | Help. SYMPTOM I get the “No Card Detected” icon in the task tray and can’t swipe any data.
