    The operating systems for both TPDOC programs are identical and are described in this instruction manual. You can use a backup copy of TPDOC to run the program and save touch panel files. To avoid out-of-space errors, be sure to check the remaining storage space on your hard drive before adding new touch panel files.
  • Page 6 If you follow the instructions for a typical installation, TPDOC will be installed along with the other AMX DOS tools included on the Panja Control Disc. Alternatively, you can select to install only the AMX DOS Tools option in the Select Components dialog box.

    Application and Use TPDOC Settings When you first start TPDOC, you need to make a few initial settings that will be the typical configuration for touch panel-to-TPDOC communications. Refer to your computer’s or other RS–232 device’s user’s manual for specific information about communications data and baud rates.

    You can use the F1-Pages options to load (receive) and send touch panel pages. After you create the touch panel control pages, you can use the TPDOC program to save them on your computer. If any of the pages stored in the memory of your touch panel get corrupted, you can reload them from your touch panel.

    These steps describe how to send a file from your computer to a touch panel. Run the TPDOC program and press the F1–Pages key. Select the Send option and press Enter. Use the arrow keys to highlight one of the Send to menu (Figure 29) options for your touch panel.

    After you create a touch panel page, you can generate a print file in six different printer formats. You select the print file format using the Configure option in the F5-Communications menu.     These steps describe how to set up your computer and load a touch panel print file. Run the TPDOC program and press the F2–Print key to open the Print menu (Figure 33). Use the arrow keys to highlight the load option for your touch panel.

    Save on disk operation. These steps describe how to save a print file. Load the touch panel pages into the TPDOC program that you want to save using the steps described in the Load from touch panel instructions in this subsection.

    The touch panel pages you save with the Save on disk operations can be loaded to the TPDOC program with these operations. Run the TPDOC program and press the F2–Print key. Select the Load from disk option and press Enter to open the Open Print menu (Figure 44).

    Determine the names of the files you want to translate. Record the file names on your disk or computer directory. Do this step before you start the TPDOC program. Run the TPDOC program and set the preferred translation format in the CONFIGURE menu.

    These steps describe how to send logo files to your touch panel. You must have a mouse and mouse driver installed for this operation. Run the TPDOC program and press the F3-Logo key to open the Logo menu (Figure 53). Use the arrow keys to highlight the Edit menu option.

    5 through 7. When you finish editing the logo, press the F10 key to save the revised logo and exit back to the main TPDOC screen. Now you can use the Open Logo screen to send the logo to your touch panel.
