    Installation Installing the Home Dock When installing the home dock in your home, choose a location in close proximity to your home entertainment system, PC computer, or amplified speakers, and also where the cable from the indoor/outdoor antenna can reach the home dock. The location should be easily ac- cessible and provide good visibility of the display, and should not be located where it will be in direct sunlight which will affect the visibility of the display screen.

    Docking the SIRIUS Radio Place the SIRIUS radio into the home dock, aligning the connector on the radio with the con- nector on the home dock, and gently press the radio down until it is fully seated in the home dock.

    Installing the Indoor/Outdoor Antenna Before installing the indoor/outdoor antenna, read this entire section. To ensure consistent reception of the SIRIUS signal in your home, it is important that the antenna be oriented correctly. Note the following considerations for antenna placement: BEST reception can be achieved by placing the antenna outside on the roof, with a clear 360 degree view of the sky.

Using this connection method, you will be able to listen to Stiletto and use the PC computer at the same time.

The FM transmitter sends the audio from your SIRIUS radio to your home entertainment system. (Figure 11) 90. 1 figure 11 figure 11 To tune your transmitter: Turn off your SIRIUS radio and tune through the FM channels on your home enter- tainment system to locate an FM channel that is not broadcasting in your area.
  • Page 24 use an FM channel that is being used by a local broadcaster, it will interfere with the performance of your SIRIUS radio. Once you have located an FM channel that is not broadcasting in your area, save it as a preset on your home entertainment system. This will become your SIRIUS preset.

    If you are using the home dock to connect to your PC computer, the My Sirius Studio ® software included with your Stiletto will allow you to connect your Stiletto to your PC. The software requires your PC computer to be using the Microsoft Windows ® XP operating system with Service Pack 2 installed.

    Before activating your Stiletto, be sure you have installed the home kit as described in the previous sections. Place the Stiletto in the home dock and power it on by sliding the Power/Lock switch down. When the Stiletto has fully powered on, from the Home screen select Satellite Radio All Channels and tune to channel 184.

    Scheduling a Recording To schedule a recording, select Setup New Recording from the Recording menu. (Figure 16) The New Recording screen allows you to set the parameters of the recording. (Figure 17) Use the Media Dial to highlight a parameter and press the Select button.
