On the G91A the Application menu provides eight options:
These are explained in the following table:
Select this option For this application
Surround (Type 6) To use the DVD player as a surround controller, connected directly to a surround system consisting of DSP
loudspeakers, analogue active loudspeakers, or passive loudspeakers with power amplifiers.
Analogue 2Ch (Type 0) To use the DVD player as a 2-channel preamplifier, connected via the main LEFT and RIGHT ANALOGUE
outputs to analogue active loudspeakers, or passive loudspeakers with power amplifiers.
Analogue MCh To provide a fixed level multichannel analogue output for connection to a surround controller with a
multichannel analogue input.
Digital 2Ch (Type 1) To use the DVD player as a preamplifier, connected via the L/R MAIN DIGITAL output to a pair of DSP
loudspeakers or a digital surround controller.
Digital MCh (Type 3/4/5) To connect the DVD player to the multichannel inputs of a Meridian digital surround controller via the L/R,
C/LFE, and SURR MAIN DIGITAL outputs.
HDMI 2Ch To use the DVD player as a preamplifier, connected to a 2-channel HDMI receiver.
HDMI MCh To connect the DVD player to a multichannel HDMI receiver.
Aux To use the DVD player as a preamplifier, connected via the AUX DIGITAL output to a pair of DSP
loudspeakers or a digital surround controller.
