The Marshall JCM 900 50W High Gain Master Volume MK III amplifier is part of the SL-X Master Volume series. It uses two 5881 output valves, providing 50 watts of power. The amplifier has high gain capabilities, especially in Channel B, which offers boosted gain for strong lead tones—from slight overdrive at lower settings to intense distortion at higher settings. Channel A provides clean to crunch tones depending on the gain setting. It includes separate channel master volumes and individual channel reverb controls for versatility. An output mode switch allows switching between high and low power; the low setting uses triode operation, reducing output to 25 watts.

HI GAIN MASTER VOLUME SL-X The latest innovation from our valve designers involves the use of an extra ECC83 pre-amp valve in the gain stage of the Master Volume SL-X models. This gives a gain soaked front end that is the most extreme yet produced by Marshall and is controlled by twin gain controls, the first (item 2), from 0-10, the second (item 3), from 10-20! Combinations of these two controls can take you from classic Marshall crunch in lower positions, to pure overdriven outrage on maximum.
