After displaying the startup LCD briefly, the radio goes to opera- tional mode in CH16, Hi power transmission, and shows your current position and time if GPS data is available.

    To add a favorite channel for the first time, select that channel then hold 3CH to store it in the CH1 location. The CH1 symbol will appear on the LCD to confrm the channel has been stored.
