As a component, the drive is designed to be installed and oper- ated in accordance with UL1950, IEC950, CSA C22.2 950-M89, VDE0805 and EN60950. Seagate takes all reasonable steps to ensure that its products are certifiable to currently accepted standards. Typical applications of these disc drives include customer pack- aging and subsystem design.

A Installing the ST19171FC drive To install a ST19171FC drive, simply plug the drive directly into your system’s Fibre Channel backpanel 40-pin single connector attachment (FC-SCA). There are no jumpers or terminators on the drive, and power is supplied through the connector. Table 1 on page 21 lists the pin descriptions of the 40-pin FC-SCA.
