thebaffle bracket. See F ig. 7 -3.
5. Replace
withnew belt, making s ure belt i sfirmly seated on
engine pulley w hile pulling f rom theother side and sliding
itaround the transmission
pulley.
6. Reattach
engine b affle a nd reassemble
blade a s described
intheprevious section.
7. Turn m ower back o ver a nd make s ure belt i sseated onthe
transmission
pulley. Pivot thebelt k eeper wire back i ntoits
operating position and snap i nto theslot p rovided.
8. Reassemble
front d rive c over.
Replacing Battery

WARNING:
Batteries
contain
sulfuric acid which
may cause burns. Do not short circuit or mutilate
batteries
in any way. Do not put batteries
in fire as
these may burst or release toxic materials.
Loosen star knobs securing
upper and lower handles and
carefully
fold the upper handle down toward
the lower
handle as shown in Fig. 7-5.

Slide belt off of engine
pulley and thread through
the
opening

Remove the two screws securing
battery
cover to battery
housing
and place them to the side. See Fig. 7-5.

these items, the wave washer may
also break free from the crankshaft.
Be sure to make note of
the orientation
of this item for reassembly.
