1. Removegrasscatcherand any packingmaterial
whichmay be betweenupperand lowerhandles.
a. Removehandknobs from handlebracketsand
pull up and backon upperhandleas shown in
Figure1. Makecertain the lowerhandleis seated
securelyintothe handle mountingbrackets.
b. Tightenhandknobs securingupperhandleto
lowerhandle.Make surethat eachcarriagebolt is
seatedproperlyin the handle.
2. Replaceand tighten handknobs removedearlier
securinglowerhandleto handlebrackets.See Figure
2.

The ropeguide is attachedto the right sideof the
upperhandle.Loosenthe wingnut which securesthe
rope guide.See Figure3.
a. Holdthe blade controlagainstupperhandle.
b. Pull starterropeout of the engine.Releasethe
bladecontrol.

c. Slip starterrope into ropeguide.Tightenwingnut.
Attachcablesto the lowerhandlewith the cableties
alreadyon the lowerhandle.Insertpegson cable ties
intothe holeson the lowerhandle.Pull cableties tight
and cut off the extra.
5. Followstepsbelowto attachgrasscatcher:
a. Lift reardischargedoor and removemulching
baffle.
b. Placegrasscatcheron the pivot rod.Let go
of dischargedoor so that it restson the grass
catcher.See Figure4.
