Description
The FireX
®
242 Hearing Impaired Kit features a FireX 41216 120V AC Smoke Alarm, 499 FireX Relay
Module, 240 strobe light (177 candela), and a wiring instruction sheet. The 41216 Smoke Alarm has
an 85 decibel horn, test switch, lighted power/alarm LED indicator, and a Quick Quiet™ False Alarm
Control to stop nuisance alarms. The 240 strobe light utilizes a Xenon flash tube which generates a
high-intensity light, visible from all sides of the lens. The 240 Remote Strobe is intended to provide
a visible notification signal for the purpose of life safety and property protection.
The 41216 Smoke Alarm mounts to any single or 4" octagon junction box or square-to-round
drywall ring and has a 7" long Quick Connect™ wiring harness for easy connection.
The 242 Hearing Impaired Kit is ideal for hotels, apartments, hospitals, assisted living homes or
whenever visible alarms are required.

  • Page 2: Technical Specifications

    1,500 feet for #18 AWG or 4,000 feet for #14 AWG (20 OHMS loop resistance). DO NOT connect to any other type or model of heat or smoke alarm. Connect smoke to a single AC branch circuit. If local codes do not permit, be sure the neutral wire is common to both phases.
