The extension cord used t oreach the
power source must be:
• Specifically marked assuitable for o ut-
door use. The c ord m ust be marked with
the suffix ' _JV-A" (in Canada "W").
• Heavy enough tocarry full c urrent from
the power source tothe unit. Otherwise,
loss ofpower and overheating can oc-
curcausing damage tounit. R efer to
table f orminimum wire gauge recom-
mendations. The cord must bemarked
with t he proper wire g auge. (Appropriate
extension cords a re available.) Donot
use multiple cords.
• Ingood c ondition. Cord i nsulation must
beintact with nocracks ordeterioration.
Plug connectors must beundamaged.
DO NOT u se multiple cords.

Secure the extension cord to the unit by
threading the cord through the cord re-
tainer (see illustration). Insert the cord
receptacle into the recessed plug.
CAUTION: Failure to use cord retain-
er could result in damage to the unit,
extension cord, or both.
