Lighting
Daytime running light
Daytime running light increases
visibility of the vehicle during daylight.
Tail lamps are not on.
Automatic headlight activation
During poor light conditions the
headlights are switched on. The
system has a tunnel detection.
Advanced Front Lighting
functions
The following light functions are only
available with Bi-Xenon headlights.
Light range, light distribution and
power of light are variable triggered
depending on the light conditions,
weather and kind of road:
Playstreet lighting
Activated automatically at low speed
up to approx. 30 km/h (20 mph). The
cone of light is turned at an angle of
8° to the roadside.
Town lighting
Activated automatically at a speed up
to approx. 55 km/h (34 mph) and
when street lights are detected by the
light sensor. The light range is
reduced by an extended light
distribution.
Country lighting
Activated automatically at a speed
range between approx. 55 (34) and
100 km/h (60 mph). The cone of light
and the brightness is different
between left and right side.
Motorway lighting
Activated automatically at a speed
above approx. 100 km/h (60 mph)
and less steering movements. It
switches on delayed or directly when
vehicle is strong accelerated. The
cone of light is longer and brighter.
Adverse weather lighting
Activated automatically up to a speed
of approx. 70 km/h (43 mph), when
the rain sensor recognises
condensation or the wiper operates
non-stop. The range, distribution and
power of light is regulated variable
depending on visibility.
Dynamic curve lighting
The light beam pivots based on
steering wheel angle and speed,
improving lighting in curves.
