Instructions
Read
and
understand
these
directions
thoroughly
before
attempting to light or re-light the pilot. Make sure the view port
is not missing or damaged.
(See Figure 32.)
Make sure the
tank is completely
filled with water before lighting the pilot.
Check the rating plate near the gas control valve/thermostat
for
the correct gas. Do not use this water heater with any gas other
than the one listed on the rating plate. If you have any questions
or doubts,
consult your gas supplier or gas utility company.

Replace view port if glass is missing
or damaged.
Failure to do so can result in death,
explosion or fire.
BEFORE LIGHTING: ENTIRE SYSTEM MUST BE FILLED WITH WATER AND AIR PURGED FROM ALL LINES
A. This appliance has a pilot which is lit by a piezo-
electric spark gas ignition system.
Do not open
the inner door of the appliance and try--['olight
the pilot by hand.

instructions.
• If you cannot reach your gas supplier, call the fire
department.
C. Use only your hand to push in or turn the gas control
knob. Never use tools. If the knob will not push in or
turn by hand, don't try to repair it, call a qualified
service technician.
Force or attempted repair may
result in a fire or explosion.
Do not use this appliance if any part has been under
water. Immediately
contact a qualified
installer or
service agency to replace a flooded water heater.
Do not attempt to repair the unit! It must be replaced!
DO NOT USE THIS APPLIANCE
IF THERE HAS

to inspect the
