Focus Mode
To choose how the camera focuses, during still photography
and movie recording press the AFC-S-M
button and then choose from the following
options.
Mode
Description
Focus locks while the shutter button is pressed halfway. Choose for stationary subjects.
(SINGLE AF)
(CONTINUOUS
AF)

(MANUAL FOCUS)
Tile camera continually adjusts focus to reflect changes in the distance to the subject even
when the shutter button is not pressed halfway (note that this increasestile drain on the
batteries). []
(CENTER)is automatically selected for autofocus mode (_ 50);if Intelligent Face
Detection is on, tile camera will continually adjust focus for tile selected face. Choose for
moving subjects.
Focus manually using tile focus ring. Rotate the ring left to reduce tile focus distance, right
to increase. Tile manual focus indicator indicates how closely tile focus distance matches the
distance to tile subject in tile focus brackets. Choose for manual control of focus or in situa-
tions inwhich thecamera isunableto focus using autofocus (_ 36). Intelligent FaceDetection
turns off automatically.
