    _ging the Battery The battery is not charged at shipment. Charge the battery before use. 1 Place the battery in the supplied battery charger. Insert the battery in the orientation indicated by the (_ (_L)(+_ l abels. Tile F770EXR uses an NP-50A recharge- able battery, tile F750EXR an NP-50re- chargeable battery.

    _lnsertinq the Battery and a Memory Card Although the camera can store pictures in internal memory, optional SDHC, and SDXC memory cards (sold separately) can be used to store addi- tional pictures. After charging the battery, insert the battery and memory card as described below.

    Basic Setup A language-selection dialog is displayed the first time the camera is turned on. Set up the camera as described below (you can reset the clock or change languages at any time using the [] DATE/TIME or _ _J_/LANG. options in the setup menu;for information on displaying the setup menu, see page 111).

    _ Using. the Flash (Super-lntelliqent Flash) When the flash is used, the camera's Super-Intelligent Flash system instantly analyzes the scene based on such factors as the brightness of the subject, its position in the frame, and its distance from the camera. Flash output and sensitivity are adjusted to ensure that the main subject is correctly exposed while preserving the effects of ambient background lighting, even in dimly-lit indoor scenes.
