IGNITION NOISE:
Black s pots o rhorizontal streaks may appear, picture m ay flutter o rdrift.
Usually caused b yinterference
from automobile
ignition systems, neon lamps,
electrical drills, and other electrical appliances.
GHOSTS:
Ghosts are caused b ythetelevision signal following twopaths. One isthe
direct path and theother i sreflected from tallbuildings,
hills orsome o ther
objects. Changing the direction orposition ofthe antenna may improve
reception. Ghosting may also becaused bydefects intheantenna system s uch
asunshielded
leads o rconnecting
several sets tothesame a ntenna without
using m ultiple antenna couplers.
SNOW:
Ifyour r eceiver islocated i nthe fringe a rea ofatelevision station w here t he
signal isweak, your p icture m ay bemarred bythe appearance
ofsmall dots.
When t hesignal isextremely weak, itmay benecessary
toinstall aspecial
antenna toimprove thepicture.
RADIO
FREQUENCY
INTERFERENCE:
The interference
produces
moving
ripples
or diagonal
streaks,
and in some
cases, causes
loss of contrast
in the picture.
BLOCK
NOISE (DIGITAL
INPUT):
Fuzzy blocks may appear in some area or the whole
area of the screen. This is
usually caused
by interference
from automobile
ignition
systems,
neon lamps,
electrical
drills, ghosting
of the image and weak signals.
BLACK
SCREEN:
When using an antenna,
weak signals will display
a black screen. It may be
necessary
to upgrade
your antenna.
