GASOLINE
The two'cycleengineon this product requires a fuel mix-
tureof regular unleadedgasoline and a high quality en-
gineoil forlubrication ofthe bearings and othermoving
parts.The correct fuel/oil mixtureis40:1 (seeFuelMix-
ture Chart). Too little oilor the incorrect o iltype will
causepoorperformanceand may causetheenginetoover-
heatand seize.
Gasoline and oil must be premixedina clean approvedfuel
container. A lways usefreshregular unleadedgasoline.
IMPORTANT:.
Experience indicatesthat alcohol
blendedfuels called gasohol(or using ethanolor metha-
nol)can attract moisture, which leadsto oil/gas s epara-
tionand formation ofacids duringstorage. A cidic gascan
damage thefuelsystemofan enginewhilein storage. To
avoidengineproblems, thefuel systemshouldbe emptied
beforestorage for30 days or longer. Drain thegas tank,
then run the fueloutof the carburetor and fuellines by
starting t heengineand letting i trun until itstops. U se
freshfuelnext season. See STORAGE
instructions for
additional i nformation. Never use engineor carburetor
cleanerproductsin the fueltank or permanent damage
may occur.
FUEL
STABILIZER
FuelStabilizer isan acceptable a lternative inminimizing
the formationof fuelgum deposits during storage. A dd
stabilizer to gasoline in fueltank or storage container.
Alwaysfollowthe fuelmix ratio found on the stabilizer
container. R un engine at least10 minutes after adding
stabilizer
to allowthe stabilizer
to reachthe carburetor.
You do nothave todrain thefuel tank for storage if you are
usingfueistabilizer.

CRAFTSMAN 40:1 2 cycle engine oil is specially blended
with fuel stabilizers.
If you do not use this Sears off, you
can add a fuel stabilizer (such as Craftsman No. 33500) to
your fuel tank.
2-CYCLE
OIL:
CRAFTSMAN
40:1 2 cycle oil is strongly recommended.
This oil is specially
blended
with fuel stabilizers
for
increased
fuel stability
(extends fuel life up to 5 times
longer) and reduced smoke.
If CRAFTSMAN
2 cycle oil is not available,
us e a good
quality
2 cycle AIR-COOLED
engine off that: has a
recommended
fuel mix ratio of 40:1.
IMPORTANT!
Do not use:
• AUTOMOTIVE
OIL
• BOAT
OILS (NMMA, BIA. etc.)
These oils do not have properadditives f or2,cycle,
AIR-COOLED
engines and cancauseenginedamage.
GASOLINE
AND
OIL MIXTURE
Mix gasoline and oil as follows:
Consult chart for correct quantities.
Do not mix gasoline and oil directly in the fuel tank.
FOR ONE GALLON:
Pour 3.2 ounces of high quality, 2,cycle
engine oil
intoan
empW, approved
one gallon gasoline
con-
tainer.
Add one gallon of regular unleaded
gasoline to the
gallon
container,
then
securely
replace the cap.
Shake the container momentarily.
The mixture
is now ready for use. -Fuel stabilizer
can be added at this time if desired;
follow mixing
instructions
on the label.
