octane.(Useof leaded gasoline will
increase carbon andleadoxidedeposits
andreduce valvelife).Do notmixoilwifh
gasoline.Purchase
fuel in quantities that
can be used within 30 days to assure fuel
freshness.
WARNING:
Experience indicates that alcohol
blendedfuels(calledgasohol or using ethanol
or methanol) can attract moL_turewhich leads
to separation and formation of acids during
storage. Acidic gas can damage the fuel
system of an angine while in storage.
To avoid
engine p roblems, thefuel s ystem should b e
emptied before storage of 30 days or longer.
Drain the gas tank, start the engine and let it
run until the fuel lines and carburetor are
empty. Use fresh fuel next season. See
Storage instructions for additional information.
Never use engine or carburetor cleaner
products in the fuel tank or permanent
damage may occur.

TO START ENGINE
• To starta coldengine,push primerthree (3)
times beforetryingto start. Use a firm push.
This step isnot usuallynecessarywhen
startingan engine which has already runfor
a few minutes.
• Move enginespeed controlleverto fast
position.
• Hold operator presence controlbar down to
the handle.
•Tum electricstad key clockwiseto crank
engine.
IMPORTANT: Do notcrank enginemore than
fiveco_nous secondsbetween each time you
try to start.Wait 5 to 10seconds between
each attempt.
• To startengine usingthe auxiliarystarter
handle,followthe steps above. Exchange
the use ofthe startkey for starterhandle.
Pullstarterhandlequickly. Do not allow
starterropeto snap back.
• To stop engine, releaseoperatorpresence
controlbar.
NOTE: In coolerweather itmay be necessary
to repeatprimingsteps. In warmer weather
over primingmay cause flood'mg and engine
will notsta_ ffyou de flood engine wait a few
minutesbefore attempSng to start and de not
repeatprimingsteps.
