Disconnect spark ptug wire from spark plug and place where it cannot come in contact
with plug.
TO REMOVE!REPLACE
DRIVE BELT (See
Figs. 18=19)
TO REMOVE BELT:

Place mower on side with carburetor up,
o
Rotate rear wheel to access rear skirt screw,
Remove rear skirt,

Use spring puller to remove spring from backplate.
,
Use long screwdriver to remove belt from transmission
pulley groove.
Pull belt from engine pulley side and maneuver over
blade.
TO iNSTALL BELT:
Maneuver belt around blade onto crankshaft.
Push belt into plastic baffle and onto engine pulley.

Use screwdriver
to thread belt between cables and
transmission°
o
Use fingers to push belt into pulley groove.
o
Use spr_ng puller to install belt tension spring.
Install rear skirt.
Return rear wheel to proper cutting position.
TO ADJUST
DRIVE CONTROL
(See Fig. 20)
If engagement cable tension needs to be adjusted, proceed
as follows:

Remove control head from upper handle,

Remove the cable from the control head and reinstall
cable positioning block in the next slot down from the
bail.

Reinstall control to upper handle.
TO ADJUST
HANDLE
(See Fig. 21)
The handle on your lawn mower has three (3) height
positions - adjust to height that suits you.

Squeeze the bottom ends of lower handle towards
each other until the pin in handle can be inserted into
one of the three height adjustment holes.

REAR DEFLECTOR
The rear deflector, attached between the rear wheels of
your lawn mower_ is provided to minimize the possibility
that objects will be thrown out of the rear of the lawn mower
into the operator's mowing position.
If the rear deflector
becomes damaged, it should be replaced.

SPEED
Your engine speed has been factory set. Do not attempt to
increase engine speed or it may result in personal injury. If
you believe that you r engine is running too fast or too slow,
take your lawn mower to an authorized service center for
repair and/or adjustment.
