USB tethering
Check to share your tablet's mobile network data connection with
your computer, via a USB connection.
Portable Wi-Fi hotspot
connection as a portable Wi-Fi hotspot.
Portable Wi-Fi hotspot settings
hotspot on and off and to set the its SSID (its broadcast name) and security.
Bluetooth tethering
Check to share your tablet's mobile network data
connection with other devices, via a Bluetooth connection.
Help
Opens a dialog with information about USB tethering, portable Wi-Fi
hotspots, Bluetooth tethering, as well as information about where to learn more.
For details about these settings, see "Connecting to virtual private networks
(VPNs)" on page 72.
Add VPN
Opens a screen that prompts you to select the type of VPN to add. You
are then prompted for VPN configuration details.
VPNs
The list of VPNs that you've previously configured.
Data enabled
Uncheck to prevent your tablet from transmitting data on any
mobile network. This is useful if you are traveling in an area where you do not have
a mobile data plan and want to avoid charges for data use on local carriers' mobile
networks. Unchecking this setting does not prevent your tablet from transmitting
data on other wireless networks, such as Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.
Data roaming
Uncheck to prevent your tablet from transmitting data on other
carriers' mobile networks when you can't access your own carrier's mobile
networks. See "Disable data when roaming" on page 57.
