Taking
Pictures
Shoot.
Press the shutter
button
fully.
The camera will play the shutter
sound
and shoot. The flash will automatically
fire
in low light conditions.
The indicator
will blink green while the
image is recorded
to the memory
card.
The image will appear
on the screen for
about two seconds.
You can continue
shooting
while the image displays.

Press the Q
button to turn on the screen (p. 43).
the camera does not play any sounds?
Pressing the Q
button while turning on the camera power will turn off all
sounds except for warning sounds. To turn on sound, press the (_
button,
select the _'T tab, then select [Mute]. Use the 4 _ buttons to select [Off].
the image comes
out dark even the flash fired when shooting?
Subject is too far away for the flash to reach. Shoot the image within the
effective flash range of approximately
30 cm - 4.0 m (1 .O - 13 ft.) at maximum
wide angle (1_ side), and approximately
30 cm - 2.0 m (1 .O - 6.6 ft.) at
maximum telephoto
(F_ side).
the indicator
blinks yellow
and the camera only beeps
once when the
shutter
button
is pressed
halfway?
Your subject is too close. Move about 50 cm (1.6 ft.) or more away from your
subject. Press the shutter button again halfway, making sure the indicator does
not blink yellow before taking the picture.
the screen turns
offwhen
you take an image?
When flash recharging
begins, the indicator may blink orange and the screen
may turn off. When recharging ends, the screen turns on again.
the lamp lights?
The lamp [Red-Eye Reduction Lamp) lights in order to reduce the red-eye effect
that occurs when shooting
in dark conditions using the flash. It also emits when
assisting the focus (AF-assist Beam).
