To transfer pictures from the Canon SX30IS to a laptop:
1. Turn off the camera. 2. Connect the small plug of the included interface cable to the camera terminal. 3. Connect the larger plug of the cable to a USB port on the laptop. 4. Turn on the camera by pressing the power button. 5. On Windows, the "CameraWindow" software may open automatically. If not, go to Start > All Programs > Canon Utilities > CameraWindow. 6. In CameraWindow, click "Downloads Images From Canon Camera using Canon CameraWindow." 7. Follow the on-screen instructions to transfer images.
For Mac, CameraWindow will appear automatically when the camera is connected and turned on.
