SANDING DISC SELECTION
Selectingthe correct size grit and type sandingdisc is
an extremely important step in achievinga highquality
sandedfinish. Aluminum oxide, siliconcarbide, and
other syntheticabrasivesare bestfor power sanding.
Natural abrasives, such as flintand game_are too soft
for economicaluse in power sanding.
In general, coarse gritwill remove the most material
and finergrit wig producethe best finish in all sanding
operations.The condition ofthe surface to be sanded
will determinewhich gritwill do the job. If the surface is
rough, startwith e coarse gdt and sand untilthe surface
is uniform.Medium grit may then be used to remove
scratchesleft by the coarser gritand finer gdt used for
finishingof the surface.
Always use the proper grit sandingdisc,and notextra
pressurewhen sanding. Continue sanding with each
grit until surface is uniform,

Positionthe tool as shownin figure 4 and align the
spindlelock hole with the two half-circlenotches in
motorhousing.Lock spindleby inserting the pin
providedthrough spindlelock hole and trapping it in
half circle notches.This will prevent spindlefrom
rotating.
• Center the sandingdisc over the rubberdisc and
startspanner nut onto threaded spindlein a clock-
wise direction.
Securelytighten spanner nutwith the spanner
wrench provided.

cause pinto be thrown from the tool resultingin
