YOUR WARRANTY RIGHTS AND
OBLIGATIONS: The U. S. Environ-
mental Protection Agency/Environment
Canada and Sears Canada, Inc., are
pleased to explainthe emissions control
system warranty on your year
2002-2004 small off-read engine.
Sears Canada must warrant the emla-
sion controlsystem on your small off-
read engine for the periods of time listed
below providedthere has been no
abuse, neglect,or impropermaintenance
of your small off-read engine. Your emis-
sion controlsystem includes partssuch
as the carburetorand the ignition sys-
tem. Where a warrantable conditionex-
ists, Sears Canada will repairyour small
off-read engine at no cost toyou. Ex-
ponees covered underwarrantyinclude
diagnosis,ports and labor. MANUFAC-
TURER'S WARRANTY COVERAGE: if
any emissions related part on your en-
gine (as listedunder Emissions Control
Warranty Parts List) is defective or a de-
fect in the materials or workmanshipof
the engine causes the failure of such an
emission related part, the part will be re-
paired or replaced by Sears Canada.
OWNER'S WARRANTY RESPONSI-
BILITIES: As the smalloff-reed engine
owner, you are responsiblefor the per-
formance of the required maintenance
listed in your instruction manual. Sears
Canada recommends that you retain all
receipts coveting maintenance on your
small off-road engine, but Sears Canada
cannot deny warranty solely for the lack
of receiptsor for your failure to ensure
the performance of all scheduled mainta-
nance. As the small off-read engine
owner, you should be aware that Sears
Canada may deny you warranty cover-
age if your smalloff-reed engine or a
port of it has failed due to abuse, ne-
glect, improper maintenance, unap-
proved modifications, or the use of parts
not made or approved by the original
equipment manufacturer. You are re-
sponsible for presenting your small off-
road engine to a Sears Canada autho-
rized repair centre as soon as a problem
exists. Warranty repairs should be com-
pleted in a reasonable amount of time,
not to exceed 30 days. ff you have any
questions regarding your warranty rights
and responeibilities, you should contact
your nearest authorized service centre or
call Sears Canada at 1-800-469-4663.
WARRANTY COMMENCEMENT
BATE: The warranty periodbegins on
the date the small off-reed engine is par-
chased. LENGTH OF COVERAGE:
This warranty shallbe for a periodof two
years from the initialdate of purchase.
WHAT IS COVERED: REPAIR OR RE-
PLACEMENT OF PARTS. Repair or re-
placement of any warranted part will be
performedat no chargeto the owner at
an approved Sears Canada servicing
centre. If you have any questJansregard-
ing your warranty rightsand responsibili-
ties, you shouldcontact yournearest au-
thorized service cenf_e or call Sears
Canada at 1-800-469-4663.
WAR-
RANTY PERIOD: Any warranted port
which is not scheduled for replacement
as required maintenance, or which is
scheduled only for regular lespection to
the effect of "repair or replace as neces-
sary" shall be warranted for 2 years. Any
warranted part which is scheduled for
replacement as required maintenance
shall be warrantedfor the period of time
up to the first scheduled replacement
point for that part DIAGNOSIS: The
owner shall not be charged for diagnos-
tic labor which leads to the determination
that a warranted part is def_etive if the
diagnostic work is performed at an ap-
proved Sears Canada servicingcenlre.
CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES: Sears
Canada may be liablefor damages to
other engine componentscaused by the
failure of a warranted port still underwar-
ranty. WHAT IS NOT COVERED: All
failures caused by abuse, neglect, or im-
properreaintananceare not covered.
ADD-ON OR MODIFIED PARTS: The
use of add-on or modified partscan be
groundsfor disellewinga warrantyclaim.
Sears Canada is not liableto cover fail-
ares of warranted pads caused by the
use of add-on or modifiedparts. HOW

questionsregardingyour warrantyrights
and responsibilities, you should contact
your nearest authorized service centre or
call Sears Canada at 1-800-469-4663.
