Should this unit exhibit a problem, check the following before seeking service.
Symptom
Radio
Noise or sound distorted
on radio broadcasts.
FM STEREO indicator
does not light.
AM or FM, no sound.
Compact Disc Player
CD Player will not play.
CD skips while playing.
CD Doors will not open.
AUX
No Sound.
General
No Sound.

TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE

Possible Cause
Station not tuned properly for
AM or FM.
FM: The FM Antenna wire is not
extended.
AM: Unit is not positioned correctly.
Poor FM signal being received or
switch is not set to FM STEREO.
Station is not broadcasting in stereo.
The AM/FM Function button is not
pressed.
Volume at minimum.
The CD Function button is not
pressed.
CD is not installed or installed
upside-down.
Disc is dirty or scratched.
Power must be on, and the CD
Function button must be pressed first.
The AUX button is not pressed.
External unit not on.
Cable not connect to AUX IN jacks.
Headphones connected.
Speaker cable not connected.
Solution
Retune the AM or FM broadcast
station.
Extend FM Antenna wire.
Rotate unit for best reception as this
unit has an internal AM antenna.
Retune station, try another station or
set FM STEREO switch to FM STEREO.
Change stations.
Press the AM/FM Function button.
Increase Volume.
Press the CD Function button.
Insert CD with label side up.
Wipe disc with cloth or use
another disc.
Turn the power on, press the CD
button, and then open the CD Door.
Press the AUX Function button.
Turn external unit on.
Connect cable securely.
Remove the Headphones.
Connect speaker cables.
